1. Au Comptoir de Balthazar

Maybe we just went on an off day but honestly the food and experience was awful. Despite there being a pretty terrace over looking the church we were placed at a table on the street which was positioned on a slant, we sat askew for the duration of the meal. Limited menu (which doesn't bother me if the food is good) however we had a choice of two starters (cold courgette and mint soup) or mussels (served with the end pieces of a baguette) and for the mains, fish with risotto and fennel or cold tuna and mayonnaise wrapped in a slice of ham, served with the same risotto and fennel, zero imagination and looked very beige, not even a sprig of parsley to brighten up what was a very dull dinner. We took guests here as a thank you and we were embarrassed by what was served. I'm sorry for leaving a negative review as the other reviews are so positive (hence why we went), I believe the restaurant has changed hands since, so maybe the new owners need to listen to the feedback. On a positive note, the view of the church and the Rosé was good, if you don't mind having a bad back!

2. Le Bistrot du Coing

We booked the restaurant for a dinner one week in advance of the reservation date 28th Octobre since we were staying in the village that night and it was the only restaurant open that night in the village. We booked an early dinner time since the covid curfew stared at 9pm. We arrived at the restaurant to find it closed. There was no message about the closure on the restaurant door.Additionally no one called our phones to advise the closure and the restaurant also did not call and advise the only hotel in the village they were closed. Therefore we had no where to eat and no time to go to the nearest town 7km away due to the curfew starting at 9pm. There were several other hotel guests with the same problem and no food for the evening. I too work in the tourism sector and appreciate these are difficult times for us all However I find the complete lack of communication of the restaurant completely in acceptable and to date still have no even received an apology. I will not be recommending this restaurant again to any of my clients

3. Chez Christine

C'est une pâtisserie qui propose quelques tables et permet de manger des plats simples mais très bien garnis et présentés (pizzas, omelettes, salades, etc…). Les desserts sont naturellement "maison" et on y est très bien accueilli. C'est vraiment l'idéal pour manger sur le pouce.

4. L'Intramuros

We spent an enjoyable evening at L'Intramuros in the city of Apt. Their burger was exquisite! Atmosphere was great and the owner, Rene-Marc, is a true entertainer as well as a great connaisseur of rums from all around the world! If around there, don't look any further. Absolutely recommended!

6. Lalhambra

No idea what the food is like but the owner says it is the best in Apt and he stopped and gave me a lift when I had run out of petrol. So I will/be eating there as soon as possible but in the eantime the owner is REALLY KIND.

8. Le Carnot Set

Old fashioned typical French; limited menu but really good value. Not much atmosphere inside but in the newly refurbished square outside it is really lovely. Good steak, good fish, great gambas. Maybe we should have ordered a portion of frites to share. And lovely puds.

10. Pizzeria O'Grill

The pizza in this restaurant is truly delicious. Not to be missed! Friendly service too. It’s reasonably priced and the ice cream is equally delicious. For those with children, they helpfully offer a kids menu of a small pizza and scoop of ice cream for under 10 Euros.
